So we are 5 months into our Daily Pursuit journey. How has it been going for you? Personally I really enjoy these meditations. Some days I am a little lost at first. But as I mull it over throughout the day I find it peaceful. Setting my mind on these things that are above has given my mind room to move and breathe. It’s like a pause button for the earthly things that devour my time and energy. These things require our attention in order to be and can suck the life out of us if we aren’t mindful. Our God does not require anything to be. He is I AM. Heavenly things inspire our affection and give us Life to pour into others. We cannot be thoroughly equipped for the good work the Lord has for us if we are distracted. We must read and meditate on the Word (1 Timothy 3:16-17). I hope that this daily practice helps us to do that. It has made a world of difference for me.
What gave me a peaceful pause today was that first paragraph from Tozer. The Cross was always part of the plan. God didn’t find out Adam and Eve sinned and franticly come up with a solution. We can’t catch Him off guard. The Cross wasn’t a reaction. The Cross had to have already been accomplished in order for Adam and Eve to not be squashed immediately upon breaking God’s word. It really can’t be explained from our perspective. It’s too wonderful for us. We can only wrestle with it. And that is what’s so beautiful about it. Resting within that great mystery, even for just a second, really helps me to put in perspective those earthly things calling for my attention.
Peace be with you as you strive for Peace. Continue to put down the mind of the flesh and lift high the Cross of Christ. Allow time for the Holy Spirit to hover over the chaotic waters of your soul. Allow Him to call forth Life.
Revealed at the proper time,
Lifted up for you and I,
Raised to Life, a life divine.
How can it be?
